On December 16, the China Aid Technical & Vocational School of the Gwadar Port Project ground-breaking ceremony was organized at the Gwadar Port Business Center . His Excellency Wang Zhihua, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Director of the Finance Department of Baluchistan in Pakistan, Akbar Askani, Director of the Department of Fisheries, Saleem Khosa, Director of the Taxation Department, Mubeen Khelji, Secretary of the Parliament for Energy, Chairman of Gwadar Port Authority, officials of the army and the navy, Zhang Baozhong, Chairman of China Overseas Holding Co., Ltd., and Wu Ping, Deputy General Manager of CHEC Pakistan Office attended this ceremony. Reporters from Chinese and foreign media such as Xinhua News Agency and the CCTV, representatives of project management companies and general contractors, and representatives of Chinese companies in Gwadar Free Zone witnessed this ceremony.
After the ground-breaking ceremony of this Project, his Excellency Wang Zhihua gave a speech, saying that the friendship and cooperation between China and Pakistan has a long history, and the Technical & Vocational School of the Gwadar Port Project is a sustainable infrastructure project for the good of the people and a key social and livelihood project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The realization of this Project will train high-quality workers and skilled talents for Gwadar and Baluchistan, thus demonstrating the trust and determination of China and Pakistan in stepping up cooperation relating to people's livelihood and seeking common development.
The Director of the Finance Department of Baluchistan, the Chairman of Gwadar Port Authority, and other local government officials gave speeches successively, expressing thanks to the Chinese government for its aid in building the Technical & Vocational School of the Gwadar Port Project . They said this Project is a fruitful result of the China-Pakistan cooperation in the field of education and another high- level demonstration project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and will serve as a window to display the friendly relations between China and Pakistan. They believe that Gwadar Port will become a regional transport hub and regional economic center in the future by constantly improving supporting facilities such as transportation infrastructure, industrial parks and livelihood projects under the high-quality construction of both Chinese and Pakistani builders.
China Aid Technical & Vocational School of the Gwadar Port Project is a foreign aid project from the Chinese government. With a total building area of about 7350m2, this Project is to build a new technical and vocational school, including teaching buildings (classrooms, offices and labs), dormitories and other supporting houses for the School.
