The opening ceremony for the C5 Expressway Southern Link in the Philippines constructed by CHEC was held in Paranaque on July 10. Halilock - the spokesman of the President's Office of the Philippines, Macvila - Minister of Department of Public Works and Highways, Robert - President of Cavite Infrastructure Company, and Ma Jianhua - Deputy General Manager of South Pacific Regional Center attended the ceremony. In addition, the Manila Bulletin, Channel 5, PTV4 and other media covered the ceremony in detail.
At the occassion, Macvila spoke highly of the economic and social value and the prospective returns the project will create in the future. He expressed his active support for the construction and operation of the project and wished it a successful debut. On the other hand, Ma Jianhua said that CHEC is grateful for the trust of the project owner and the Philippine government’s support. Furthermore, CHEC shall always follow the core value of "fulfilling responsibilities, offering top tier services to the society and establishing win-win cooperation", and continue to closely collaborate with the project owner and consultant to do a good job in epidemic prevention and launching the project.
The C5 Expressway Southern Link is one of the key infrastructure projects in the "Grand Plan" of the Philippine Government. It mainly comprises of the construction of a new 3.5km-long two-way 6-lane expressway, viaducts, flyovers, culverts, ramps, toll stations and ancillary facilities. This key project is designed to link the C5 Ring Road with the E3 expressway. Upon completion, the project will effectively decongest traffic in Metro Manila and foster regional economic development.
